Stefaan Voet

Lawyer since 2003

Stefaan Voet received his law degree from Ghent University in 2001. In 2011, he obtained his doctorate on the topic of collective litigation. For his doctoral thesis, he received the Judicial Law Prize in 2014, which is awarded every three years by the non-profit organisation Algemene Modellenverzameling voor de Rechtspraktijk.

Since 2015, Stefaan has been a senior lecturer in judicial law at KU Leuven and a visiting professor at Hasselt University.

In addition, Stefaan is substitute judge at the Justice of the Peace of the third canton of Bruges and chairman of the monitoring committee of the Ombudsman for Trade. Since 2023, he has also been a member of the Board of Directors of Ombudsfin.

Stefaan has been a lawyer since 2003. After a break from 2014, he is active again as a lawyer in 2019 and joined DLPA. Within the firm, he is mainly active within the areas of corporate and commercial law with a focus on litigation issues.
